Crime Novel – What Is It Really?

It’s time to set a proper stage for your imagination to run wild. The primary focus of such a novel is on a crime that initiates an unfolding narrative that gradually moves towards some major reveal, or other times a resolution.

It is about why the crime happened, who did it and how to bring the case to true justice. Sometimes a crime novel runs through the perspective of a criminal; other times, an investigator narrates the story as the plot gets deeper with every page.

Crime novels are usually dark, filled with a web of ill deeds, complicated timelines, deceptions and unclear motives. Interestingly, several subgenres exist, such as psychological thrillers, detective stories or spy novels.
